ProCredit Bank launches ProEco loans, tailored for investments in projects that contribute to environmental protection

ProCredit Bank, the only bank in Romania with 100% German shareholders and specialising in the financing of SMEs, is pleased to announce the launch of the ProEco loan, tailored for business companies and agricultural producers. This loan can be used for investments that contribute to energy efficiency, for projects that use sources of renewable energy, as well as for other measures that contribute to environmental protection. Some of the investments that can be made with a ProEco loan are the acquisition of production lines, energy efficient equipment and machines, LED lighting systems, building insulation projects, photovoltaic panels or water treatment plants, but the list of the investments that can be financed is far longer.

“We have been supporting SMEs in Romania for 12 years by offering efficient and innovative solutions which are adapted to the continuously evolving needs of this segment, and the launching of the ProEco loan is an important step for us as a bank, as it constitutes an extension of our current business model. For our business clients, the new service enhances performance by enabling investment in modern and efficient technologies that also contribute to environmental protection,” stated Andreea Enache, Business Development Division Director of ProCredit Bank Romania.

ProCredit Bank’s approach supports entrepreneurs, who can obtain financing at very favourable terms with the ProEco loan: maturities of up to 15 years, complete financing of the investment project, and a fixed interest rate for loan requests with maturities up to five years if submitted between 1 October and 31 December.

“A business that is characterised by strong performance, efficiency and competitiveness is the result that every entrepreneur hopes to achieve. By investing in modern energy efficient equipment and machines and in projects that use renewable sources of energy, companies can increase their productivity and reduce operational costs, and at the same reduce their impact on the environment. Moreover, our business client advisers, who benefit from the experience of the ProCredit group, have been trained to offer ProEco financial solutions that are adapted to each and every business,” Ms Enache added.

The launching of the ProEco loan underscores ProCredit Bank’s commitment to actively contribute to environmental protection and constitutes a continuation of the internal measures implemented by the bank in the second half of 2013 and in 2014. These internal measures led to a 14% reduction in our CO2 footprint, an 11% reduction in paper consumption and a 12% reduction in electric energy consumption (2013 vs. 2012). The bank has a network of 28 branches and agencies, with a presence in all major cities in Romania and serving a wide range of businesses and private individuals.
