ProCredit Bank Romania contributes to the further development of German Romanian business ties

ProCredit Bank Romania, along with the ProCredit banks in Bulgaria, Germany and Serbia, participated in the event “Fit for Growth – German-Romanian Supplier Dialogue”. The event was organised by the German Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME), and supported by ProCredit Holding, the parent company of the international development-oriented ProCredit group. It was held in Bucharest on 24 November and attracted more than 230 visitors, including companies that are clients of the participating ProCredit banks.

This was the first event in a new series of conferences organised by the BME with the aim of creating links between German companies and local subsidiaries in Romania and suppliers from Romania and its neighbouring countries Bulgaria and Serbia. The event focused on bringing together German buyers and local suppliers from the automotive industry. Dräxlmaier and Stabilus, co-organisers of the event, actively sought to develop new partnerships in the region.

ProCredit group, whose mission is to encourage the sustainable growth of SMEs in South Eastern and Eastern Europe, enthusiastically supported the event. This partnership allowed the clients of ProCredit banks to learn more about market prospects and possible business collaborations with German counterparts. Moreover, the ProCredit booth acted as a hub for productive discussions between the banks’ representatives and business owners, as well as between the business owners themselves.

As the event specifically addressed Romanian companies, Dr. Antje M. Gerhold, General Manager of ProCredit Bank Romania, presented the group’s approach to banking for SMEs during a speech in which she stressed the importance of SMEs : “As a bank that seeks to be “Hausbank” for SMEs in Romania, we want to help our clients foster close business connections and discover cross-border possibilities so that they can co-operate successfully in the region and with Europe as a whole . We are glad that events like these offer our clients the opportunity to liaise with other companies in the region and beyond.”

The event generated positive feedback from the clients of the ProCredit banks in attendance, as they appreciated the opportunity to discuss and initiate potential partnerships with well-known companies abroad. ProCredit Bank Romania has been in operation since 2002 and actively promotes business ties between ProCredit clients in the region to support the growth and exchange of knowledge between SMEs.
